I agree that over time you get better at it.  There is also a factor of using your intuition and sometimes asking what are they missing?  What are they NOT using as keywords?  What are people actually typing into a search engine?  Surprisingly, this often works.  I know from experience.

Good material, good to help people understand what SEO keywords are about and why you use them and how to use them. Good for beginners, but still a good reminder to some with experience but maybe not yet an expert. I have used quite a number of other tools as well that are out there for keyword search, some better than others, but I find using a few tools is good as they have slightly different algorithms and as such you get variations and this helps to determine which are the optimal ones as for some tools some keywords don't register So use Google as well as a tool such as the one used here or one of the others, get a couple and play around to see what is different/better about them

I often go to google to see the competition for keywords and phrases. I haven't used the quotation marks, so I will analyze the variance there.

The division of labor in my office and marketing policy, make the website I optimize impossible. The strategy I now indulge is using the free sites for Press Releases and Articles, then anchoring relevant text back to the website, which is for Moab Utah

Pretty much exactly the same procedure I follow for keyword research. I sort the results by monthly global searches for a rough estimate of the number and searches, and build my list using the less competitive terms. Do you think it's a waste of time to bother using the highly competitive terms as well? I never use them.
